What this notice covers.

This notice applies to openmindsfnd.org and the information Open Minds Foundation receives through this website. Open Minds Foundation is a Vancouver, British Columbia youth-led non-profit. British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) governs how private-sector organizations, including not-for-profits, handle personal information.

02 / Information we receive

The site is intentionally light.

The website does not create visitor accounts or host its own application form. If you email admin@openmindsfnd.org, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include so we can respond. If you use an application or registration form linked from this website, the form provider may collect the details you submit and make them available to us to manage your request or participation.

Our website host may record ordinary technical information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested page, referring page, and date and time. Hosting providers use this information to deliver the site, protect it, and diagnose problems.

03 / Cookies and tracking

No non-essential cookies.

Our website does not set first-party cookies or use analytics identifiers, advertising pixels, session replay, or embedded media trackers.

We use temporary browser tab-session preferences (sessionStorage) to remember that you have seen the annual report announcement and, separately, whether you have dismissed its bottom-of-screen banner. This prevents repeated interruptions as you browse. These preferences contain no personal information, stay in your browser, and are not sent to us. They last for the browser tab’s session.

Your browser may cache files as part of normal web delivery. When you follow a link to Google Forms, Google Drive, an official competition site, a social network, or another external destination, that provider may use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy notice. The site also requests its typefaces from Google Fonts; Google may process technical request information under Google’s privacy policy ↗.

04 / Use and sharing

What information is used for.

Information sent directly to Open Minds Foundation is used to answer questions, assess opportunities, coordinate programs or partnerships, and carry out the purpose for which it was provided. The static website does not sell personal information or run advertising profiles.

Service providers may process information for website hosting, email, external forms, and event services. Information may also be disclosed where required or authorized by law.

Ask questions or request access.

You can contact Open Minds Foundation to ask what personal information it holds about you, request correction of inaccurate information, ask how it is used or disclosed, or raise a privacy concern. Requests should include enough detail to identify the interaction without sending sensitive information by email.
