Story 01

Open Arms Project

The Open Arms Project is a series of youth community-building events created with the BC Youth Volunteer & Charity Society. A mock trial workshop, cultural food exchange, craft fair, and badminton brought more than 200 participants together.

The format made room for different kinds of participation—from a shared meal to a workshop to a game on the court.

Story 04

Byng Project 3B Books

With VSB SWIS Byng Project 3B, Open Minds hosted a book swap and sharing event in the Lord Byng Secondary School library. A guest from the Vancouver Public Library introduced students to more of the library’s programs and possibilities.

A local school space became a place for discovery, exchange, and new connections.

Story 05

Inspire Case Competition

At Inspire, student teams moved from research to recommendation—testing a real business problem, building a clear point of view, and presenting their strategy together.

The value of a case competition is not only the answer. It is learning to think, decide, and communicate under pressure as a team.
